Patience as a Virtue

Patience is not the hours passing on the clock

as you sit at the DMV watching the hands go tick tock.

but Patience is not knowing how long you’ll have to wait

deciding whether or not to give up or if its even too late.

Patience is not the counting of the days

as you eagerly wait for your favorite TV show to play

but Patience is looking down the tunnel and seeing no light

but still you dare to travel hoping to find a grand delight

Patience is not the money you save in the bank

stacking high enough so that one day you’ll live by the lake

but patience is watching your life waste away

hoping that all of it will not be in total vain.

Patience is not tolerating your enemies antics

so that one day will come back with vengeance and special tactics.

but Patience is a choice you have to make

even though you are unaware of your potential fate.

It’s not easy to be able to be that patient

because the journey feels like chasing pavement

but I’ll gladly do it not wallowing in my own lament.
