Patience or Now!

Patience is a virtue,

so I've been told.

But instant gratification seems so much easier,

so much more appealing,

how can it not be better?

Somehow patience supposedly

brings better blessings.

But what if I want what I want,

and I want it now?

While the American way sounds great,

the toxicity of the instant

is detrimental to the future.

But what if I don't want to wait,

because I have my own wishes

I want to fulfill?

It won't be true fulfillment

unless you wait

for what's to come.

Things always have a way

of working out best in the long-run,

so even though you don't want to wait,

you know it's the best thing for you.
