With the Passing of Time

Location

And so I close my eyes

Not for the act of blinking

But for the act of ending

My life, along

With Winter's end beginning.

Opening, my eyes do flutter

Welcoming my life to me

And a start that is to be

A journey, accompanied

By the coming forth of Spring-

My youth does burst with eyes wide open

And with the everlasting thought of bliss

Although these memories I know I'll miss

I cannot help but cling to

The decending of Summer's sweet last kiss-

Eyes squinting now from my old age

A calming smile rests upon my face

Along with the ease of time's coming grace

For now I shall wait here

As Autumn leisurely leaves this place-

And so I close my eyes...
