The Owl

Over dark branches and leaves he flies;
Humble, swift, unfathomably wise,
Guarding the forest with hoots and gleaming eyes.
The top of the highest tree he’ll stay;
The speckled moon dancing away,
And like the stars, he’s gone by day.
