Overflow

You desperately cling to the underbelly

Like the bizarre monster you are.

You dupe the deer into thinking

You are nothing, as you stab into it,

And cause the life to overflow.

You feed your ego,

Your cheap, seething pride,

And judiciously suck

Until the deer is bone dry.

Though you’re not credulous,

Your paranoia drives you to the cryptic,

To that which is not there,

To a plainly hidden vein.

Though the deer does not deride you,

Nor negate your meal,

You stab and suck ‘til

The sores are blackened, cold,

And your ego surmounts your will.

You fill your gut.

You lose your grip.

You fall and hit the floor,

Inert, dying, and leaking

The life which you stole.

Your life was not concise,

But long and mislead.

Unworthy of notice,

Even by he who you made bled.
