I'm backed against the wall
There's nowhere left to turn
My dreams all turn to ashes
As my life begins to burn.

The beasts of hate surround me
Their blades gleam in the flames
Their eyes glow with the fire
And venom drips from their fangs.

No longer can I run
From the evils that tirelessly pursue
It’s beyond the hour of thinking
Now is the time to do.

Indignant, I face my pursuers
And strike them with utter surprise
With fists clenched and back erect
I stare fearlessly into their eyes.

Boldly I cry out to them
As I firmly stand my ground
They have no power, no hold on me
And no longer will I be bound.

For though my life was in shambles
At last, I turned it around
The ruins of the past dissolved away
And a golden city stands there now.
