Overcome

Thu, 09/15/2016 - 17:40 -- lhb5

Continue my journey with art and song,

Keep it within me all lifelong.

The song of my dream will overcome,

The fears of failure that have struck.

Once more, I look out at what I once was afraid.

I don’t want to give up everything I loved.

No more would I hide in the shade,

No more will I be acting tough.

The right choice I thought I made,

I’ve been in the shadow long enough.

I know I must be crazy to think like this,

I know I must be stupid to take another risk.

But I want to prove that I was right,

I wanted to know before tonight.

Imagine taking a chance,

And knowing you were right at first glance.

I wish to stand up before my enemies,

So they could see that I am not weak.

I wish to forget those unpleasant memories,

That have decided who I should become.

No matter what would be before me,

Everything I shall overcome.

And I shall continue my journey with art and song

Keep it held within me all lifelong.

The song of my dream shall overcome,

The fears of failure that have strung.
