Alone in a dimly lit hallway

lined with hundreds of doors.

Every time he turns the knob

nothing happens.

He keeps going,

persistent and hungry.

He thinks

"Maybe if I just try one more door,

it will open for me."

He will give up when he realizes

they never will.
