Opened Eyes

Sun, 02/02/2020 - 00:32 -- Sikesa

My eyes were opened

I saw her pain

Though she smiled

Though she laughed

Her heart was tired

It hit me hard to see her hurt

But within my heart, grew a great desire

I was inspired to lift her higher

To ask her how she was...really was

To feel her sorrow

Her anguish, her hurt

And then with the hope that someone saw her

To be cared for by someone who loved her

The heart that once was dark

Might be filled with light

I hate to see other’s pain

But compassion flows through me

And the inspiration to love is great

All because my eyes have been opened

To see other’s pain
