Onlyness

Proverbs 21:2 New English Translation (NET Bible)

2 All a person’s ways seem right in his own opinion,

but the Lord evaluates his thoughts.

My thoughts are running out and the creek is almost dry

How I love the serenity and of facing myself alone

That’s what it's all about and possibly the reason why

That I see this entity that is me down to the bone

Time seems to stand still and sounds fade into the background

Nothing much matters now except the whisper of life

This lasts up to until, the world that is all around,

Wakes up and shatters the peace with constant strife

Is there a choice or can we escape calamity?

Is it in our hands to choose and dissect the time?

Is it in our voice to choose the words selectively?

To bring peace to the land that’s called yours and mine

Is the power we have conformed to our obedience?

Is our helplessness connected to our unbelief?

Are our empty laughs to be covered up in silence?

The expression of loneliness as we ourselves deceive?
