Only A Shadow

Three minutes born after her,

Three thousand more years from being in the light,

For I am her shadow,

Like all shadows,

I only know how to copy,

Like all,

I only know how to follow.

Sometimes I wish I could trade places,

So she can be my shadow,

And, I her leader,

So she at least knows how it feels,

Feels,

To wish to be something you're not,

To wish you're the opposite.

What if she was in my place?

What if I was the one everyone takes notice to,-

Was me,

And, to her, she would be a shadow,

That you see,

But,

Do not take notice to.
