The Only Righteous Judge
Ecclesiastes 3:17 New English Translation (NET Bible)
17 I thought to myself, “God will judge both the righteous and the wicked;
for there is an appropriate time for every activity,
and there is a time of judgment for every deed.
Empty handed I stand before You … my mouth full of gravel
Unexpected at the time … when You called my number
Helpless I’m here now … waiting for the gavel
As my destiny will be called … Woe! To all my slumber
My bag of excuses now … appearing kind of formal
My mouth completely dry … nothing can be said
All of the abuses … my decay seems truly normal
Sound of distant cries from … afar a glow of red
It had to come to this … is ignorance really bliss?
Fooled myself for years … no one now to blame
I made my own bed … now who will pay for this?
Surrounded by my peers … all to my own shame
If I had known the future … wouldn’t I have done the same?
Nothing changes much … for them that love blindness
It’s all about the selfish … like life is just a game
That without interruption … removes most types of kindness
Is all then what's preplanned … maybe for self-expansion?
All what's done somehow… a need to fulfill one’s greed
As then the world turns only … into one’s comprehension
To enlarge selfish desires … becoming one’s greater need
The more we think we know … the easier to spell ignorance
The more we comprehend … the emptier what’s understood
Always on the go … trying to escape all self-made hindrance
Made to teach us the lessons … so in Life to grow for good
