With the power to change

Only one thing,

I would make cancer

A distant thing.

Change the world so cancer

Would never exist.

Saving loves ones and strangers

From death’s dark abyss. 

It would save thousands of lives

And keep families together.

It would let women become wives,

And men become fathers.

Now this one change

May seem really small.

Maybe cancer hasn’t touched

Your family at all.

But I remember years ago, 

A girl who just lost her mother.

But had to stay strong 

For her little brother.

So that’s what I would change,

If just one thing at all.

To create an era of cancer-free,

Long lives lives for all.
