Only a Memory
I felt the pain like it was new,
each day it grew.
Stronger and stronger until I couldn’t bear it anymore.
I couldn’t shake the question in my mind,
Why did you leave me behind?
Alone in the darkness you turned off my light,
without my sunshine I live in constant night.
Living my life in reverse.
What more can I do,
but sit down and remember you.
Today, although you’ve been away for so long,
in the flame of your memory, I grow strong.
