One Way Out

Can you tell I'm hurting?
Do you even care?
Would you look twice at me if the scars weren't there?
Can you see my pain?
It's written in my eyes
You would never guess tears are my lullabies.

I see it in their glances.
I hear is when they speak.
They say I need help because they think I'm weak.
And these dreams haunt me while I'm awake.
So I keep the secret of my only escape

And the hurt is real. And it comes on fast. And their's just one move to make.
I've got no other option. It's my great escape.
And sure it stings and leaves a mark, but even that can fade.
Only I am there for me and it's my only escape.

When I see you smiling I wonder if you'll see
because there's no way escaping can help me.
I've tried to reach out but I'm not that strong.
So I wait for someone to notice something's wrong.

I want someone to notice the pain and hurt in my eyes.
I want someone to confront me and not accept my lies.
I want someone to see me as broken as I am.
I want someone to reach out and give me a hand.

Or I'll remain lost in my escape.
