One A Day

How'd I get here?

I was doing so well

Was I too far?

Or was I too close?

The thing you thought would never leave

Has gone away

So you find something else

And you discover that

One a day

Keeps your problems away

Just long enough

To convince yourself

That you're not coming undone

It's fine as long as you don't look down

Dont look down at yourself

Because you'll start to see

That one a day adds up

And you forget that you said you'd stop

Because this time you let the beast

Consume you

So you start with two, three, four at a time

Maybe a whole bunch

All at once.

It's close to impossible to stop

If you had the energy you'd do it

But you can't find it

Its left your soul

Abandoned you

Left you hopeless and scared and alone

Who's next?
