One day

Isaiah 35:5 New Living Translation (NLT)

And when He comes, He will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf.

Cries

Cry! Cries everywhere

Noise without definition.

A planet built on noise and sounds

Lead by a mortician.

Ears! Ears everywhere

No one wants to listen.

A planet turned deaf indeed

No one seems ever missing.

Eyes! Eyes everywhere

No one is really seeing.

A planet turned blind indeed

And few are really grieving.

Nose! Noses everywhere

No one is really smelling.

The stench that reaches everywhere

How high? There is no telling.

Taste! Taste everywhere

But only for the bitter.

The feeding of constant negative

Has killed the sweet forever.

Touch! Touch everywhere

But only for the strangling.

Touch of love seems long gone

But My Lord survives it.
