Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time,
I would have asked myself,
What was hope?
Was it needed in my life?
I wandered aimlessly
Through my school,
Daydreamed through classes,
Surrounded myself with pointless matters.

Once upon a time,
I would have asked myself,
What were wishes?
Were they needed in my life?
There was nothing that I had desired,
None other than the simple solstice of my home
A place where I could live another life.

Once upon a time,
I would have asked myself,
What were dreams?
Were they needed in my life?
Endless nights of tears,
There was nothing more that I had wanted
Than the simple peaceful sleep.

Once upon a time,
I would have asked myself,
What was life?
Was it needed?
Nothing filled my mind when asked
“Would you regret it if you had died tomorrow?”
Regrets meant nothing without goals.

But this once upon a time,
Was ages ago
Long gone in the past
Where I dreamt aimlessly for a life I could not have
Where I thought of nothing of the world
A place I thought was cold and deserted
A place where everyone disappeared
When I had needed them.

Time has changed,
People have changed,
I have changed.
That once upon a time,
A fairy tale,
Dissipated into the depths of my memory,
Only as a mere reminder
That such thoughts are no longer true.

Hope.
Wish.
Dream.
Life.
The four points
That changed my view of the world
The four points
That eventually built up this world.
