Old Man River

Sat, 01/11/2014 - 22:17 -- CABlack

Old Man River take me where you end
Stretch after stretch, bend after bend
Fill me wih butterflis soaring high in the sky
Fill me with love for my sweet darling, please try!
She waits for me; wondering my place
Waiting to see us- face to face

Old Man River take me to the treasure
The treasure being my soul's pleasure
Listen to me when I say
Old Man River there's no time to play
I see us laying unclothed beneath Waves of the Way
Wet from the early morning dew, the fresh smell of blades

Out of breath, breathless
Staring into each other's hearts
Knowing fully, God will surely bless
I see clocks that won't tell time
Doing what we want
Love's Partners in Crime

Nothing on Earth can tear us a part
Not an angel, a demon
We're part of God's heart
We flowwith magnificen bliss
And everything is perfect
As Heaven's tender kiss

...

Old Man River we forget the difference
We forget the difference between nonsense and sense
What's real and what's fake
What's too good to be true
What's good for our own sake

See some things have have a finale
But before hand have scenes
Scenes that we tally
Scenes that fill us with wonder
One's that end up a blunder

And we look back Old Man River
We stare backwards, see and may quiver
And though we can not see forward
We experience life and strive shoreward
Constantly looking for formalities in commotion
Or commotion in formality's potion

Old Man River...someday we'll die
Someday we'll grow wings and fly

None of "this" will matter
Whether we believe in angels
Or our existence is an accident- a spatter
We have lived
And lived is all we
Ever did
