Oh, How I Wish...

Oh, how I wish you could watch the paint dry on these walls like I do every day

Oh, how I wish you could see the stillness in my brain

Oh, how I wish you could hear the monotone of your voice as you lecture

Oh, how I wish you could feel how heavy my eyes feel looking at you

Oh, how I wish you could sit here in this cold desk

Oh, how I wish you could do this busy work

Oh, how I wish you could watch the clock like I do every day

Oh, how I wish you could lug around this heavy backpack

Oh, how I wish you could count down the seconds until the final bell

Oh, how I wish you could feel the relief I feel walking out of your classroom
