Ode to the Sun

The warm embrace of your rays
Stretch out to touch the Earth in the early morning.
The sky is splattered with pinks, purples, and blues,
While the ground is a vivid green dotted with speckles of brown.
You make the flowers gleam and glow with beauty,
and make the trees stretch towards the sky.

You brighten my day and brighten the world,
Until the days when you go farther away
The the world becomes dark and cold.
I do not worry though,
You will be back again;
When the spring time is ready to bloom,
And the cycle starts yet again.

I will await your arrival,
And I will think of the warm days ahead;
All the fun we will have,
The times we will spend.
You are a symbol of happiness,
Something that everyone should feel;
So open your dazzling eyes,
Outstretch your warm and loving arms,
And don't forget to smile now.
