Ode To My Cat

Isn't it wonderful to own a pet?
Something to always keep you in debt?
Cat treats and laser mice,
Catnip for some extra spice
to your kitty's life.

But you can't beat the loving you get from that creature
As you're watching that scary double feature.
All alone late at night.
Just waiting to jump up in fright?

Sitting in the dark with your fur-baby
Next to your heart...purring away.
And yes, she'll be there the next day,
Doing the same thing again.
I love this furry little monster... my friend.

She bites me on the nose,
and gets hair all over my clothes
And wants to sleep on my head
while I'm laying in bed.

I love this furry little cutie,
Though she can be a tad snooty.
She'll always be my sleeping beauty
Even when she's on cat duty!

It's what they do best,
along with keeping away pests,
and terrorizing my guests...for attention.
