Ode To Insomnia

Characteristics of time change when the clock strikes

midnight; the Moon casts his gaze on clumsily painted dreams.

A flirtatious affair under a silk cloak of stars,

Fluttering ghost-like hands reach for the night and claw at the seams.

Rapt by shimmering flames that illuminate gloomy

hours; the denial of drowsiness induced by nightmares.

A symphony of endless transparent sleep,

The erotic plummeting of aspirations caught by escalating stairs.

Cordial goodbyes drowned out by alarm clocks and scents of

coffee; but the Moon will call again no matter the circumstance.

Driven by waking speeches of contrasting indifference,

Yet the Sun still knows nothing of the decietful night time romance.
