Oh Well it's October 11
They say; it's a Day of A Girl child
How I love the Hype of this day

But have you seen my sisters that have been maltreated, Raped, objectified or should I say dehumanized?
Look! There she cries
She just had abortion
It was never her intention
She was raped, poverty led her parents to compromised
Justice she has been denied
Doctor said; "You won't be able bear a child "
Now, she's left to live with the trauma

Have I told you about the old concept?
Well the old man said; girls are meant for the Kitchen; objectification is her description
To dehumanized her more, she have been sent to a devilish place for circumcision
With a pathetic justification called Tradition
Her bride price is paid
It's time for her to get laid
The future is lost; she's now a reproductive machine
Bearing children annually is her routine

I heard a girl scream: 'I am a girl not a slave !
I am thirteen, I'm not for uncle Dave
I am growing to be a woman, so I must learn to do house chores
But that doesn't mean; I should be dishwashing, cooking and water fetching during school hours
Give me a sheet and a pen and I will write you my goals
Support me if you can and I will make you proud

At school; it's sexducation for girls, not education
She's disturb with the learning environment; it's difficult for her to make a pass
A sister once said, the goons called instructors will say; "Pay leh mai, or take off your blouse"'

My sisters go through a lot Everyday
More than my ink can say
Being a girl is not a crime
The synonym for Girl isn't Vulnerability
Like us, they deserve a place in society
We need to stand with and support them, not only on the 11th of October; but as long as air flow through our lungs
