Ocean's Tide

The opalescent gaze
Of a moon's eerie haze,
Keeps the tides at bay
During an eloquent phase,
Though the tide will not stay
If the moon floats away,
Thoughts the tide could not bear
That a maiden so fair,
Would get up and leave
And let the tide's heart tear,
Though the tide did believe
The moon could not perceive,
Between them flies a dove
Of everlasting love,
Caught within moon and tide
Resting in the sky above,
And the bird cannot forever hide
On the heart's inside.
