By the Ocean Shore Villanelle

As he looks out upon the ocean shore
There is a spectacle of crashing waves
Seagulls that his eyes had fixed on, continuously explore.

They dive down into the ocean roar
Looking for fish, which they crave,
As he looks out upon the ocean shore

He wonders what dwells deep in its floor
The sea creatures there must fight and misbehave
Seagulls that his eyes had fixed on, continuously explore.

As the birds arrive back with fish galore,
He takes note of their courage and how they are so brave
As he looks out upon the ocean shore

He admires the boats in the distance, which he does adore
And watches as some seagulls begin to lave
Seagulls that his eyes had fixed on, continuously explore.

He sits in the sand and remembers what he came there for
He came to relax and to learn to behave
As he looks out upon the ocean shore
Seagulls that his eyes had fixed on, continuously explore.
