The Ocean

The waves of the ocean crashing against the sandy shore.
Salt tasting air filled my lungs
I watch the sun setting on those endless waves
Dolphins playfully jumping out of the water
As if to say goodbye to this day
Sea gulls fly chasing the wind
The waves claw their way up to the beach
Trying to reach the land
Only to be pulled back, sinking under the water
Waiting for their turn to rise once again
I sit watching, observing for hours on end.
These waves so desperate to reach to shore
Only to be lost again
I hold my breath watching, waiting for that moment
When they will finally reach their long sought goal
But until then I will write about the adventures they have told.
Their voices whispers on the wind
Telling me the stories for me to write.
The stories I will tell another night.
