Numbing Agent

Everyone has that one thing

That distracts us for a time

Alcohol, drugs or that special someone

They take away the depression, they take away the pain

And even though its temporary, they hold back the rain

So when they leave and the effects disappear

You’re left without a single tear

Because what all is left?...

The effects of the numbing agent

You have to be careful

You should be fearful

For numbness is an addictive

Most of the numbing agents are wicked

The alcohol pulls you in, the drugs hold you down

For a brief moment, they make time slow down
