Not So Happily Ever After

I was busy writing our life story
I thought we were on the same page
But you were a chapter behind
Leaving me in a rage

You were scared of the ending
Uncertainty is not your style
I ran out of literary techniques
To ensure you'd stay awhile

Our 'Happy Ever After' was soon to be written
I thought my words were your's as well
You put up a good act,
I was fully under your spell

Until you blurted out the ending
A dramatic twist of events
The knight is no where to be found
There is only a damsel in distress

A climax was reached too soon
The plot was flipped upside down
The prince left, swiftly and suddenly
The princess, alone, without her crown

So I'm sitting here, waiting and reading
About a boy who thought he was a man
When reality struck and he broke her heart,
Trampling unwritten pages by the boy who ran.
