I was born one day, the skies a bleak, stormy grey.
My mom says I came out smiling and tossing about the room.
Years went by, and I said my goodbyes to childhood.
We grew taller, and thicker,
Our hair color even differed.
I felt my life changing like the winds on the sea.
And soon I met a man, and he asked for my hand.
But even though I loved him, our future looked dim.
For to be together was frowned upon
And discouraged everywhere.
We wished to be bound and recognized by all,
We wished we could go anywhere, just as ourselves.
Not hiding, not fleeing,
Not regretting, not being told we are wrong.
We desired the freedom wind to flood our astral wings
The one who sired us However,
Vacuumed out even the slightest breeze.
And your parents,
Didn’t love, didn’t care
For the things their children went through, and forced us to be this so called “normal”.
