Nontheist Voice

Sunday morning- mother goes to mosque

Grandparents go to church

Sometimes I wonder

Which one is worse

Both place teach

Of a god so skewed

 And full of contradictions

And attributes best eschewed

Who is supposedly all-knowing

With the short sightedness of a cad

Who is supposedly all powerful

But cannot create good without bad

Who exhibits psychopathy

By knowing-yet being enraged at what he allowed

Who exhibits sociopathy

By who he uses-abuses-extorts-wow

Who exhibits jealousy

Insecurity and neediness

Buddha and Lao Tzu saw these as problems

He shouldn't-any less

Who supposedly gives us test

To see who truly loves and has faith

Which in severity- so insufferable

Only a sadist could tolerate

Who has nothing better to do

Than to load people down with rules

So suffocating- so excessive

It's a wonder we're not breathing through tubes

Who sanctions sex and love

And puts it in repression

No freedom no peace

Just misery and suppression

Any such religion

Can consider me a loss

To have a god who moonlights

Between J. Edgar Hoover and Santa Clause
