#NoFilter

Location

Ghana

I laugh and I cry, probably more than I should

I like talking to old friends and being understood,

But stuff gets in the way of us being real

All of our social media is anything but ideal

Who we really are and what really matters

Is hidden because we are too busy being bloggers and chatters

Caught up in society, you could say

Posting a picture of the sunset, but not even enjoying the day

Meaningless words to go with meaningless conversations

I’d rather talk about God, and things wrong with this generation

A picture on Instagram can be nice,

But not if you’re only worry is “How many likes?”

This may seem harsh and I might seem fake

Because even I “tweet” and “Instagram” and participate

In the constant distractions that our society offers

And when we are forced to put our phones down its like fish out of water

But lets try it anyways and see how it goes

Stop tweeting and instagramming for a moment to expose

Your beliefs and your values and who you really are

Have a conversation with a stranger, it might seem bizarre,

But in the end you’ll be glad and maybe thank me later

Because you had made a friend or walked away from a conversation greater

You might think I’m crazy, and you might even be bitter

But this is just me talking with #nofilter
