No Second Chances

Sat, 10/24/2015 - 23:49 -- lpbt

Hey there aloof angel

Do you remember our solemn time?

While these brittle bones are breaking,

The feeble good within me dies.

I wrote this song for you this evening,

DOES IT HAUNT YOU IN EVERY WAY?

Hope you at least remember vaguely,

The utter pain of that fateful day.

Loyalty I solely gave thee,

Only for you to forsake me.

I’m appalled by your advances,

To you I say:

“No second chances.”

Now it’s no more Mr. nice guy,

I am numb to all your trances,

On the brink of self-destruction,

The thought of you is purely rancid.

I SOMETIMES THOUGHT,

I FOOLED MYSELF,

THAT LOVE WAS REAL,

THAT THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE.

ALAS, IVE SEEN YOUR WICKED GLANCES,

SO ONCE AGAIN,

NO SECOND CHANCES.

Listen to me,

When I speak,

For one day,

These words you’ll keep.

In the pale, black night,

You’re sure to sneak.

Your heart remains a frozen creek.

“You are the company you keep.”

I wonder if those words will one day seep,

Into that vast and frozen creek.

Revenge is sweet,

But success is sweeter.

Make no mistake,

I lived, and I breathed her.

But I no longer deal in “undecided” stances.

So as for you,

The aloof angel,

There are no second chances.
