Nights With You

There are good nights, there are bad nights,And there are nights with youWhat I would do to spend a night with you,If I could forget about timeSitting in front of the fire and burning marshmallows,Laughing and glaring at the stars,  There are good nights, there are bad nights,And there are nights with youIf I could go back to the day when it was just us two running home in the late summer breeze. It still makes me laugh at our playful escape from the chilly nightIf only I had held your hand then  There are good nights, there are bad nights,And there are nights with youIf I could go back to that trip again,Sitting beside you, our shoulders touchingIf I could only go back to that same trip we dipped ourselves in the cold turquoise waterWhen you touched my pale shivery hands after I swam deep into the winter ocean  But more than all this,If I could do anything to go back to those childish days when you first showed up to my class,I would do anything to fix myself and the idiot I was.
