The Night We Sang

A lil while ago
I stayed in a dorm
On like the third day we had a mandatory 1am lecture
All about us misbehavin

The lecture turned from war
To an emotional seminar.
Chills ran through me with anger
Man they were vicious
All the girls that had to stay back felt guilty & promiscuous

We formed one unit then broke
We tore
One girls mama had her teeth knocked out by a two by four
My hand is squeezing a girls I never met before
I look at all the black girls faces
And all I saw was Rape Galore

BLACK.
My bones have never really cracked but I broke that day
Sobbing on jesus's neck
One thing that we all can relate
Is the struggle and hate
Of the black woman today.

We had a big prayer circle
Everybody speaking in tounges
I'm sobbin
I'm forcing myself to break down
So I could finally feel up

Shaking.
Quakin was the next black girl
Freshman
Man what
was she cryin for
I didn't even wanna know
But trust I held her tight I couldnt let go

Being black woman Is to suffer
Wither
Crack
Crave
Break
Cry
And endure

Relatable.
