Nieces' Laughter

Coming home from a bad day

Trying to shake it off in the car

Pulling into the driveway

getting out, headed for the door.

Suddenly,

I hear

The best sound of my day

My nieces' laughter!

I go into my sanctuary,

Change, grab a sweater,

I move quickly,

I need that laughter!

"Auntie is coming this way"

Excitement fills the air,

For all parties,

I move quickly toward the door

Coming home from a bad day,

No longer fending off the horror.

In I go, through the door.

Laughter and smiles every which way.
