New York Night

Mozart Dante and Shakespeare
Seem with us
As we walk through
A new York night.
Past cloudy skies above
The press of men below
Past turrets and churches
Steam rising from snowy black streets
While we search for music and wine
and transport back
to a humble quarter
And a life unknown.
