Never Have I Felt So Safe
Never before have I felt so safe in
the palm of a bird.
A bird not to wide but rather the smaller --
A plump hummingbird.
Whose blade like wings have made the tempest of
tomorrow. Hear it?
Whose hums will make the unblended, dumb babe
rest the night's nocturne.
Never before I felt so -- so safe,
in a bird's palm.
