Nevada

Am I dead yet, baby?

Silver strokes call my name

All for our country
At least that was the claim.

And I said "Nevada"
my dying call to arms
Sin city left us
Soldiers, small towns, old farms.

Imperial palace
Territorial prize
Slot machines bringing
light to our daughters eyes.

This poem is about:
My family
My community
My country
Our world
