a nerdy kind of heartbreak

Like perpendicular lines

our paths crossed once, but never again.

Just that once you were mine

and now, not even a friend.

At least we weren't parallel

always there, but never touching.

But maybe it'd have been better that way?

Always there is still comforting.

I got to have you, hold you, kiss you.

But now, I see you no more.

I could've had you in sight forever-

but without the experience?

Now I'm torn.

Deciding which one is better

well, it won't change the past.

But I can tell you which one is best:

the one in which we last.
