Nearsighted

They huddle, in fear for their lives

You cannot comfort them from afar

Your soothing words only carry

So far from your honeyed lips

Your care extends only to those

You can see,

And your eyes are weak

Do you see those you have

Led into the desert?

No- your eyesight and closest

Friends prevent it

You must make a choice to see,

Else your advisors will

Blind you to your own works

Take a stand against them,

Choose your own morals

See as far as you can

View those who have no choice

But to look up at you

For help
