Being a Native American young girl or woman,
is complicated to explain,
Growing up you are taught that cooking,
is your job just like raising kids.
Coming from a home of one older sister and one younger sister
and one older brother is terrific
Living with both of your parents is very
rare in most Native American homes.
We struggle to stay afloat in the economy
With both of my parents and brother and sister
working, its up to me to see that the
house remains clean.
that the yard work is down, bundry,
and that i get dinner ready.
But i see that as a blessing because
no matter what Indian Women
are strong and powerful. we can
with stand what is thrown our way.
We are the backbone of our nation.
If we can with stand that, we can
also succeed and better ourselves
but sometimes we hold ourselves back
from it. We give the people what they want.
So how do we change that. Stand up and
push ourselves to accomplish more.
