A Nation's Views

Conservation. Quality Time. Appreciation.
Where has it all gone?
A nation spent on more, more, more, but never takes time for what has become less.
Nature dwindles, forests, fields, and the very heart of America disappears,
a little more everyday.
What once was, can never again be, can never return.

We drive for entertainment, personal fulfillment, and miss what's important.
A night with family, a trip with friends, to see smiles on your child's or parent's face.
That's what is important, and that's what we miss, cut off by our own desires.
An what else do we lack, that makes our lives richer?
The wind in the trees, a bird on a branch, the soundscape of our lives,
These little things we ignore, the little things, which make everything worth it.

So what would I change, if I could?
The views of a Nation,
Who have lost our hold on the meaning, the richness of life itself.
