My "WOW Effect"
I'm not what you would call pretty.
I am not that size zero, long-legged girl. I don't have big boobs or a large butt. My stomach bulges out in tight shirts. My lips are discolored with the top a burnt brown and the bottom a light pink. My eyes are too big and my nose is like a pelican's, long and sharp.
I have lots of hair though, in places I wish they weren't. I shave my legs, wax my pits and thread my mustache. Sounds painful, doesn't it? It is.
But don't worry, I don't do it on the daily. Or even weekly because, I CAN be pretty.
I wear sweats and t-shirts and go bare-faced regularly. Materials that hug my body make me claustraphobic. That doesn't mean I dress and look like a slob.
I have, what I like to call a "WOW Effect," and I love it.
Tyra Banks defines flawsome as embracing your flaws. With my "WOW Effect," I'm able to do that.
When I do get dressed up, a little make up and a cute outfit, everyone is simply blown away by my apperance. They being so accustomed to seeing me in sweats, find themselves at a lack of words. The expression on their faces is irreplicable. It is genuine. It is worth it.
Overall, it's a wonderful self-confidence boost.
I know that I can be pretty and that is all I need. I don't need to be a size zero, have enlarged secondary female characteristics, or a a flat stomach to feel that way. I wear what I want and dress how I please because...
I can be FLAWSOME and know I'm FLAWLESS at the same time.
