This is my war

I fight my battles every day
Every inch I lose, is a second I waste
It feels as if it will never end, and yet I dream of peace

I fight my battles with love and respect,
hate and deceit,
fear and anger,
passion and strategy
Its a haunting monster: war

Defeat is destruction, survival is loss, war is won only in peace
To destroy the monster, you only corrupt your self
There is no key to the endless cycle of attack
And yet, if you don't, you lose
To lose, is to be lost, to be blind and suffering in the dark
And that is not my life to live

I will never lose the war, because I will never stop fighting
I will forever be lost in survival, if I fight on
To win, to leave, to end the endless cycle; more destruction is needed

Unless, unless we find another way
A way to fight, but not
A way to destroy, but not
A way to not merely survive, but prevail, but yet never win

The answer is unattainable bliss through destruction of your foe
And your foe is only yourself
If you destroy yourself, who are you now?
