My Vision is Clear

What is my vision you ask?

Well, let me first ask…

What is a life worth

That man sees the struggle in his neighbor’s weary eyes

Sees the burn of hunger in his emaciated frame

Sees the stricken and desperate pounding of his heart overrun by fear

And yet closes his eyes and drops not a single tear

What is my vision you ask?

My vision is clear

“Dignity + compassion= peace”

Spread the love and peace

What is a life worth

That man hears his brother’s heart wrenching cries

Begging, pleading for man to withdraw his life snatching rifles

Begging and pleading for mercy

And yet man covers his ears and pretends not to hear

What is my vision you ask?

My vision is clear

“Dignity + compassion= peace”

Spread the love and peace

What is a life worth

That man smells the stench of life without water on his son

Smells the funk of stolen, unlived years

And yet man breathes deep through his nose but the stinch disappears, his conscience is clear

What is my vision you ask?

My vision is clear

“Dignity + compassion= peace”

Spread the love and peace

My eyes wish to no longer witness the flowing tears

My ears wish to no longer ring from the everlasting cries

My nose wishes to no longer smell the rotting of wasted and spilled blood

My eyes can no longer bear to witness

My ears can no longer bear the sound

And my heart can no longer withstand
