My Tiny Mentor

My Tiny Mentor

Who would think that the smallest member of the house would have an impact so large?

Though we speak different languages, I know you’d never curse.

Out your soul was never a single ounce of hurt.

How is it your eyes as brown as rain-soaked bark,

Could see me at my worst and never once depart?

You love is without conditions,

Your soul the purest I’ve seen.

You’re my biggest inspiration, teacher, and my forever friend.

I know most would think me crazy to look up to you at all,

For you’re the same one who would happily chase a ball.

On my darkest days you taught me life goes on,

Even though now you are gone.
