My Sun

Because I love you

All your awful jokes that spout out

From your perfect little mouth

Will make me melt into a silly puddle of laughter

Because I love you

Your best interests I will seek

And oh how angry I would be

If I found out you ditched your first period!

Because I love you

I shed so many happy sad tears

Since you’re too tall now

You no longer fit in the space of my arm

But because I love you

I use two arms

To hold you

You will always fit in the space of my heart.

Because I love him

The world no longer revolves around me

It revolves around my sun

My son, my bright and so clever son

Because I love him

Not one thing could tear us apart

A gravitational pull, mother earth to

Big bright son, inseparable.
