My Summer Nights

Burning fast underneath red velvet coals
Paying nothing to life, life pays no goals
And your parents say you’re getting too old
It’s time to move on, let life unfold Days go by I’m standing here
spending my nights with whiskey and beer
picnics in the park, sleeping on the lawn
trying to grab every moment before its gone
but now our moments in the past.
We move too slowly and stop too fast And now at the end of my thousand dances
Living through a life with no second chances
I’m slipping away into the night
I survived the battle but lost the fight and they say boy you’re gonna live again
you’ll be standing at worlds end
because tomorrow
brings a begin to an end
of my summer nights with you
