My Story

Expression sealed inside bars of a mind,

Colors splashing, waves crashing

Voices of others keeping me blind,

Powerless, weak, emotions unwind.

A stroke of a pen, scratch of a pad,

Paper ruffles, ink scuffles

Opening of a door, no longer a gad,

Passing of a gift, a release, thanks Dad.

True feelings outpouring, real me in glory,

Ink on the page is what tells my story.
